As early as almost 150 years ago did visionary AVO founder and name lender August Vodegel furnish proof of the fact that good taste can be successfully married to good business savvy. In hindsight it seems that he knew it all along, because spice condiments and curing agents bearing his composing and developmental signature would soon enjoy such a great reputation, extending far beyond the bounds of his own butcher business, that selling those products to colleagues in the trade and dealers supplying the industry was an activity not long in waiting.
In 1921, manufacture and distribution of seasonings and functional ingredients was assigned to the then founded new company August Vodegel Osnabrück, a name which rapidly converted to AVO as a more readily recognized and more easily remembered company brand. After the erstwhile founderīs death, the senior partner August Beisse took over the helm, holding the company, all adverse conditions of those times notwithstanding, on a steady course to continued success - a course which, in fact, has been faithfully followed into this day and age.
